A Merry Atheist Christmas

I chuckle to myself
And get lost in my thoughts
As I stand amidst
The uneducated crowd
The bells and whistles
The trees and lights
All this for a god
Born on the 25th night
However there is
A problem you see
He does not exist
Unlike you and me
No baby Jesus
No Northern Star
No three kings of Orient
Who came from a land afar
It’s Christmas however
So I’ll let that slide
God or no god
I’ll put down my pride
I’ll keep in mind
What this whole season is about
For the spirit of sharing
I’ll close my mouth
