CDC celebrates Languages of Love

The talk featured three speakers that imparted their experiences and testimonies in speaking the different languages of love, inspiring the over 200 students in attendance on how to deal with relations and bonds.

Among the speakers were guidance councilors Lorille Aguilar from USC-DC and Cristina Ismael from Cebu Technological University. Downtown Campus Minister Lougi Pontillo also shared his ideas regarding the spiritual aspect of love.

The event concludes CDC’s Love Week, a week-long celebration observed every February in line with the season of love. For this year’s edition, CDC altered the conventional symposium-type forum to a talk show that featured a more interactive venue that encouraged the audience.

Languages of Love explained how people to respond to love in different ways, highlighting the five modes introduced by Gary Chapman in his 1995 book ‘The Five Love Languages.’

“The talk is about how different people handle their relationships with the five languages of love, namely: time, affirmation, touch, service and gifts. Also, let’s not focus too much on romantic love. This is not limited to our partners but also to our parents and friends,” stressed head organizer Geraldine Mozo, USC-DC Guidance Councilor of the Business Administration program.

The event also included an open forum where students were able to ask questions, tips, and love advices from the speakers. Debated topics such as cheating and faithfulness were top on the audience’s ask-list.
