The Curtain Call, a musical and theatrical segment of USC Days 2015, was staged yesterday, in two showings at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Rudolph Rahmann Cultural Center in USC’s south campus.
This year’s show, entitled Bisdak ko Bai!, is intended to showcase the richness of Cebuano culture. The musical production, directed and written by Mrs. Mary Ann Lumacang, is a family drama portraying a love that spans three generations (Gisumpayang Gugma).
The blend of drama, music, and dance was carried out by the university’s Performing Arts groups: the USC Choristers, USC Rondalla, USC Dance Troupe, USC Theater Guild, USC Dance Club, along with individual Carolinian performing art talents who also contributed to the success of last year’s Disney themed show.
Among the main cast were Lourelle Henj Manlosa acted as Mingga, Paige Kind Gonzales as Domeng, Red Diano as James, Arra Kwin Layese as Sofia, Mary Gale Carolasun as the Mom Elsie, and John Paul Diaz as the Dad Joseph.
Credited for special thanks were the sponsors: the USC Administration, Vispop, Cebu Popular Music Foundation, Max Surban, Elvis Somosos, Msgr. Rudy Villanueva, the School of Architecture Fine Arts and Design students, Living and Style for the living room showcase set, and Sound Balloon for the lights and sound.
A performer from Vispop gave the opening number and invited the audience to attend the Vispop Music Festival this September 13.
