TC Days Kicks Off with Quiz Bowl and Music Talent Show

This year’s TC Days began with the pre-opening event, a quiz bowl titled “TC’s It!” where TC students formed their own groups to compete and prove who had the most trivial knowledge. The categories included TC Facts – testing how much the contestants know about their own campus – facts about both local and Western superheroes; identifying “throwback food” or food items that were popular years ago; songs; and TV shows.

The competition was heated as a number of teams engaged each other in light verbal jousting, but only one emerged the winner: Team Sakto Mo, comprised of Ronald Jay Pontino and Guillermo Rollan while the second place went to Team Ching Chong, comprised of Yoosong Kim, Jon Quioco, Jade Yu, and Fred Tality, and the third place went to Team STEAM, comprised of Priscilla Joy Salvador and Lance Lim.

Following the quiz bowl was the opening ceremony that took place on a rainy evening. Dubbed as “Quadranscentennial”, the ceremony was a showcase of talented vocalists from different schools of the campus. One of the performers was Jegi Nero, a student from School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design, who was crowned as the first runner up of Himing Pinoy 2018.

The opening ceremony also teased a week of activities during TC Days. These events are “Do You Have What It Takes?”, a trivia game about general knowledge about the campus, “Zumba Night”, “Praise Jam”, “FLAIR” and “Ambassador and Ambassadress of TC”.

Before the event ended, the candidates of the “Ambassador and Ambassadress of TC” were in attendance to present themselves leading up to their pageant on November 24. The candidates were asked about their preparation for their big day as well as their preparation for their advocacies, which is not only for the campus but also for the community.

The venue of the opening ceremony was also filled with stalls from some of the sponsors of TC Days, including Sykes, Smart, Mangga and Shake n Slurp.
