CEC Holds Engineering Exe-Com Conference
The Collegiate Engineering Council (CEC) organized Engineering Exe-Com Conference yesterday in the Robert Hoeppner Hall to discuss the planned activities of all student organizations from the College of Engineering.
Aside from CEC, other participating student organizations include Civil Engineering Council, Association of Civil Engineering Students, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – USC Chapter, Chemical Engineering Council, Chemical Engineering Club, Chemical Engineering Society, Computer Engineering Council, Computer-Driven Enthusiasts, Electrical Engineering Council, Electronics and Communications Engineering Council, Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – USC Chapter, Society of Circuit Researchers, Students’ Electronic Society, Industrial Engineering Council, and Mechanical Engineering Council.
Common future activities among the student organizations are mass sponsorships, tutorials for major exams, program-based community extension services, acquaintance parties, inductions of officers, leadership trainings, and seminars. Plans for activities during the Week of Welcome, such as Pasigarbo sa USC, freshmen orientations and putting up of help desks were also discussed. Moreover, discussions on activities during Student Organizations (S.O.) Week in July were also common among the presentations of the student organizations.
In addition to the presentations of future activities, the members of the executive committee of each student organization were introduced.
Toward the end of the conference, the Engineering Toolkit, a document that orients the engineering freshmen on important info regarding their particular programs, was launched. It was created by a team of Engineering Students spearheaded by Reinart Bacalso and Head Layout Artist Gerald Owen Franza. The toolkit is intended to be used during the Week of Welcome.
The whole conference was intended by CEC to be in accordance to its vision of uniting the student organizations in the College of Engineering.
CEC is planning to meet the same student organizations again to settle conflicting dates of their future activities
