Together Forever – KURIS Litfest 2015
“Stop!” you said, but I heard you not and almost fled.
Oh do you still remember? As it was the mid of September.
With such haste, you made it to me, and I knew that to be.
Thinking small peaks I wouldn’t see,
But oh boy! You were very fraught.
Why did you come? I thought.
I won’t know. Before you could speak, I left.
Because I knew this is only a theft,
For a heart, a mind, a body
In the end, you will only leave me bloody.
First time we met
I couldn’t see the dangers yet.
But, you had a strong soul within you
The days went on. I saw something anew
Maybe hope, maybe love
It might end well, sort of.
A rose there, a kiss here
A hold in the hand, you were such a dear
The small voice whispered
“Fool!” it said, and I heard.
I refused to believe.
He would never deceive!
I should have.
No! I chose well. I shouldn’t have.
Because right now, we’re still together
My love for you will never whither.
And you knew
Yet you left me too soon.
And you traded me for a goon!
Such an insufferable being
How could you love me then leave me bleeding?
I’m sorry I didn’t mean to shout
Once I recall, I’m angry all about
Well right now we’re together
And I know nothing else matters
The whisper, it comes again.
It said, your love I will never gain.
Shut it out! Get out!
How could you ever doubt?
Can’t you see he’s with me now?
I forgave him. You must allow.
So beautiful you were.
Just you, I couldn’t deter.
Now I see a hollow.
In your stink, I wallow.
Smooth hair used to cascade
Now it’s all just frayed
“Stop!” I said to myself.
We’re together, that’s all that matters
I’m sorry she had to go away
If she hadn’t, we’d never be this way.
I gave her what she deserved
“Spare her!” some voice I heard.
But it can’t be undone
The life is all but gone
It was your fault! We shouldn’t have split!
Everything, I was only forced to commit
Oh no! I’m sorry again.
For blaming you then
In love, we do what we can
Be it who, what, where and when.
Look at us now! Together once more.
Knowing none will ever walk out that door.
Forever, you’ll be here.
Forever, I need not fear.
Someday, you’ll understand.
In an afterlife, or some other land
You’ll see what I had to do
You’ll see my love for you
In the end, nothing else matters
We’re together
And you won’t have to leave me, ever.
