USC Days 2017 Closing Ceremony

Shades of blue, green, yellow, purple, maroon and gray filled the area of the Anselmo Bustos Sports Complex, as the USC Days 2017 came to a close. The intramurals closing ceremony turned into a celebration of talent, sportsmanship and exodus in education.
Niveno Ocdenaria and Joahanna Veloso, who served as the emcees for the event, led the celebration. Winners of various sports events were then revealed including their respective MVPs and Best Coaches.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Fr. Emmanuel Mario Sarabia, Director of Student Services; VP-Administration Fr. Generoso Rebayla, VP-Academic Affairs Fr. Aleksander Gaut, Assistant VP- Academic Affairs Fr. Roger Bag-ao. They were assisted by the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals winners during the awarding ceremony.
Among the champions, the School of Business and Economics led the roster with six wins including men’s swimming, men’s and women’s table tennis events, men’s basketball, football and men’s volleyball. They were followed by the Senior High School ending up with three wins in men’s and women’s lawn tennis- events and women’s swimming. The School of Engineering ended as champions for men’s badminton and futsal.
As for the remaining events, it was the School of Education who won women’s basketball while women’s badminton, chess and men’s volleyball were conquered by the School of Architecture Fine Arts and Design, School of Law and Governance and School of Arts and Sciences, respectively.
Junctures were filled by intermission numbers of the different creative organizations in USC. The USC Choristers offered a sweet rendition of Martin Nievera’s “Ikaw Ang Pangarap” while the USC Performing Arts performed Luz Loreto’s “Kinsa Siya”. Troy and Tracy Villarta also performed a dance number as champions of the Dancesport Competition.
Cheers from each school resonated as the highly awaited Popjazz Competition began. The fate of each school’s competitors lay in the hands of the judges which included Ms. Cinbeth Orellano, Mr. Dax Barlaan and Mr. Angelo Manapsal.
USC Days 2017 officially came to a close as the popjazz winners were announced with the School of Business and Economics declared as champions with their Kabuki-inspired number. The School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design garnered second place while the School of Education placed third in the competition.
