Gansewinkel Hall, January 27 – As part of its Political Science Days, the Carolinian Political Science Society (CPSS), spearheaded by it Academics committee, conducted its second Pagtuki sa PolSci, an afternoon event in which issues surrounding the nation and within the University are discussed among Carolinian Political Science students.
The event’s theme, Transforming the Face of Politics: Breathing the Filipino Spirit Amidst Crisis, is paralleled to the Nationalist Youth Week in which the forum focuses mainly on the youth’s role in transforming the face of Politics.
Among the issues tackled were Valuing Students’ Rights with its speaker, SSC councilor Ken Ecarma who revisited the theories and history of the rights of students; The Magna Carta for Students’ Rights Bill discussed by Law and Policy Studies major, Kathleen Abugan; The Role of SSC in Managing and Upholding Students’ Rights with CPSS councilor Bon Luzon; Understanding the Political, Economic, and Educational Impacts of ASEAN Integration to the Students with International Relations and Foreign Service major, Melissa de la Cruz.
The Pagtuki sa Pol Sci 2.0 served as a venue for Political Science students to talk about the pressing issues within the university and extending outside to the community and the country by actively participating in the forum and also by sharing insights and asking questions with the 15-minute open forum after each topic being presented.
