SBE WEEK 2014 Glocalized Education: Rebooting our System
The School of Business and Economics (SBE) opened their SBE Week 2014 yesterday, February 17, 2014, at the Wrockledge Yard with the theme “At 77 Years of Transforming Business and Economics Education: Embracing ASEAN Integration 2015” in subordinate of the University’s own theme, “Glocalized Education: Rebooting our System”.
Following the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN)’s decision to integrate culturally, politically, socially, and economically amongst the region, the Philippines, being a South East Asian country, is arming itself with preparation and awareness. With just one more year into the ASEAN Integration 2015, the University of San Carlos (USC)’ SBE promoted and supported the integration by showcasing various exhibits of the diverse ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand at the Wrockledge Yard that would produce insight to any South East Asian Country’s political, economical, cultural, and social aspects of information.
Apart from the exhibit, SBE will also be holding forums, seminars, discussions, as well as dialogues on Partnership Opportunities between Indonesia and the Philippines, Real Estate Opportunities, a Research Forum for SBE, IPR Seminar and the New USC Research Guidelines, World Bank: Regional Dialogue on “Creating More and Better Jobs”, Travelmart from the Department of Hospitality and Management (DHM), BAP Financial Literacy for Families of OFWs, SBE Partner’s Summit, and COCAAI Alumni homecoming.
The SBE Week was opened by SBE’s dean: Mr. Challoner Matero; and will be celebrated from the 17th to the 22nd of February 2014.
