USC Celebrates Warriors’ Night

This year’s Warriors’ Night took place on July 27, 2017 at the School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design (SAFAD) Lobby, Talamban Campus. The event was held to recognize the university’s outstanding achievers and to celebrate the oneness of Carolinian pride in different fields of profession.
Supreme Student Council (SSC) vice president Joahanna Veloso opened the program. Afterwards, the academic achievers from the first semester of the previous year are recognized as follows:
Lhylet Ruela, Erwina Chan, Lisha Quinicot and Jessica Dihianisan all excelled as academic achievers for SAFAD. From the School of Education, Kyn Pestano, Carmelo Nudalo and John Jay Batulan were their academic achievers. As for the School of Health Care Professions, Yenna Deliman, Kirstein Laurzon and Herra Salinas were the dean listers invited for the event as well.
The School of Engineering garnered the most academic achievers in the event. For the mechanical, manufacturing and industrial engineering cluster, Adam Pino, Rex Glen Andrino, Nikki Go and Felixter Chua are their academic achievers. Liane Rabuya, Mikhael Lataza, Jake Lobrigas and Joshua Caunda were the achievers for the electronics and electrical engineering cluster. The computer engineering cluster consisted of achievers such as Kristal Kilat, John Murro, Rex Cabanilla and Shara Baliguat. Lastly, Jhoven Durango, Newson Uy, Kevin Melendres and Paul Ledesma all excelled well for the civil engineering cluster.
For School of Arts and Sciences, the academic achievers were split into two divisions: the arts division and sciences division. For the arts division, Mark Linao, Bernardo Miguel Mitra, Florge Sy and Keith Abellanosa were its achievers. As for the sciences division, Michael Cabusas, Geo Peig, Patrick Woogue and Heirnich Woogue were its achievers.
Lastly for the School of Business and Economics, Norberto Solas Jr., Angel Retrondo, Crissa Joaquino, Harra Go, and Vianca Amores were its achievers.
After the recognition of academic achievers, Josh Sembrano was invited to give the audience an inspirational message based on his achievements and experiences. The participants representing the university for the upcoming Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) event were also recognized.
Team Kahayag of SIKAT USC was also recognized. The team’s members also spoke about their feelings on being part of the recognition. SIKAT USC was a runner-up in the recently concluded Sikat Design Challenge’s 2nd People’s Choice Awards.
The event also recognized the handful of Carolinians who passed the 2016 Bar Exam, the 2017 CPA Board Exam, the 2017 Chemical Engineering Board Exam and 2017 Architecture Licensure Board Exams.
SSC President Deo Burgos gave the closing remarks for the event. Warriors’ Night 2017 marks one of the highlights of the week-long USC Warriors’ Week, along with the Pep Rally and KNOW USC.
