Drenched TC dances to Zumba
Students were drenched by the “God of Rain” in water and sweat as they danced in the Zumba Night held evening yesterday in the Basketball Covered Court at Talamban Campus.
Zumba Night is an activity that is part of TC Days, organized by the Collegiate Engineering Council (CEC). TC Days is a week-long annual event that promotes solidarity, camaraderie and “TC pride” among students in Talamban Campus.
This year’s Zumba Night bears the theme “Dance with the God of Rain.” This made the highlight of the 3-hour dance session as the CEC officers threw water balloons and shot water guns at the dancers, soaking them wet while they danced to upbeat popular songs. Officers also invited firemen to spray water at the participants with their fire hoses from their fire trucks.
The dance was led by licensed Zumba instructors based in Cebu.
At the end of the activity, special awards were given to some of the participants. Kate Escalante and Christian Rey Delos Santos won Best Costume in the Female and Male Category, respectively; Anjo Caballes and Andre Zablan won Best Dancer in the Female and Male Category, respectively; and Allana Rubi and Arnel Cabañero won the Best Couple award. All of them won prizes courtesy of Holiday Gym and Spa.
